A Breathtaking Celebration by the Swan River
On the 18th of December, members and friends gathered together to celebrate the joyous occasion of the WAGBA 2023 Christmas Party. Despite a last-minute change in venue for this year's Christmas Party due to COVID-related disruptions, attendees were pleased to have a delightful evening by the scenic Swan River at the Bayside Café in Matilda Bay.
While this year’s Christmas celebration saw a smaller number of attendees due to concerns about COVID, it did not dampen the guests’ spirits due to great company – familiar faces such as the Hon. Sabine Winton MLA, Minister for Early Childhood Education; Child Protection; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence; Community Services ; and Libby Mettam MLA, Leader of the WA Liberal Party, also graced the event with their presence, along with other guests of honour such as ex politicians Mike Nahan, Alannah MacTiernan and former Honorary Consul Bill Hassell.
Attendees also had the delight of winning Mona’s splendid flower arrangements through a raffle event during the dinner. Coupled with the beautiful musical performances from Wilfried and Renate Wimmler and their son, the dinner was truly a feast for all senses.
The WAGBA 2023 Christmas party was once again a fantastic networking and socializing opportunity for members and friends attending, and it perfectly closed out the year. As WAGBA celebrated the end of 2023, the association would like to express its gratitude to all members and friends for their continued support. Moving forward to 2024, WAGBA wishes everyone a successful and a peaceful new year – and one that is, hopefully, COVID-free.
