Moerk Water Solution’s “Humanitarian Arm”

For many, to have access running water at just a twist of a tap to drink, cook, and shower at a moment’s notice are a given and something to be taken for granted. However, access to fresh water is a luxury that many people around the world do not have. With the growing challenges in many regional areas, access to clean water remains a significant challenge, especially in remote communities.
It is thus important for many to give back and support those in need—the spirit of supporting each other in today’s world is ever more important. Moerk’s Water Solution is one such company, having been at the forefront of tackling these complex issues by deploying “scalable, sustainable, and locally tailored water treatment solutions”. The company has been working their way to revolutionize the future of water security for marginalised populations though seamless implementation of integrating advanced technology, renewable energy, and community-focused approaches.
On the company’s website, one can see an impressive undertaking of over 40+ projects and initiatives, not just in remote areas of Western Australia, but also in nations in the south-western Pacific Ocean, Africa, and more. Moerk’s “Humanitarian Arm” is powerfully showcased in two short films produced by local filmmakers in Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. The Vanuatu film features Ralph Regenvanu, the country’s Minister for Climate Change Adaptation, Energy, Environment, Meteorology, Geo-Hazards and Disaster Management, who was instrumental in bringing the case to the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Minister Regenvanu, originally from the island where Moerk first implemented a solar-powered water desalination system in 2018. Through funding from the German Embassy in Canberra, the system could be upgraded to higher capacity.
