Toasting Bavarian Style
Another year, another cheer — WAGBA was delighted to be hosted once again at the Sentinel Bar & Grill, located at St. George’s Terrace in the heart of Perth’s CBD, for our annual fund-raiser Maytoberfest.
The event, with some 110 WAGBA members and friends in attendance to support the event – including Wilfred Wimmler, Honorary Consul of Austria – was kindly sponsored by our fellow WAGBA Silver Member Haver & Boecker.
Held to the emulate the festive spirit of Oktoberfest in the month of May, Maytoberfest provided a unique opportunity for attendees to expand their networks and meet new people in an informal setting, allowing for personal connections to be made and fostering the sense of community within WAGBA. In true German fashion, guests were treated to some beer and servings of Bratwurst, adding to the cheerful and convivial atmosphere.
Following the event, WAGBA Secretary Ian Laws reflected on LinkedIn: “Another great Maytoberfest with German beer, sausages and conversation! Thanks to Sentinel for an outstanding venue and Haver Australia for sponsoring.” Luis Pardini, Managing Director of Haver & Boecker Australia, echoed the sentiment, commenting: “It was a pleasure meeting you again. Looking forward to the next event.” Former WAGBA Committee member Gerrit Goedecke was also delighted to attend during a short visit to Perth, noting: “What a great timing I had with my trip to Perth. It was great seeing you there!”
The success of Maytoberfest is a reflection to the dedication and hard work of the WAGBA community, and the association extends its heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and sponsors, as well as Sentinel Bar and Grill, who helped make Maytoberfest a remarkable success. The continued support of the WAGBA community is a testament to the strong bonds and shared values that underpin this vibrant organization.
