Cultivating students' passion for the German languageDas Exam and their teachersDr Gabriele Maluga, Sabine Winton MLA, and WAGBA President Stephan Kirsch with successful students of the "DAS Exam" and their teachers.

The “DAS Exam” (Deutsch Australisches Sprach Examen) has been offered to students for around 60 years. The initiative was initially created for high school students, but these days it is also offered to Years Five and Six. The award ceremony of “DAS Exam” is typically held annually to celebrate the most successful students.

Forging strong relations between Western Australia and Germany for years to come

On 12 and 13 August 2022 Mr Volkmar Klein MdB, a member of the German Parliament and the Co-Chair of the German-Australian Friendship Group visited Perth. The visit to Perth was jointly organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and WAGBA Committee Member Torsten Ketelsen OAM. On this occasion Sabine Winton MLA, Chair of the West- Australian-German parliamentary friendship group, invited representatives of the West Australian-German Business Association (WAGBA) along with the two parliamentarians Ms Jessica Shaw MLA and Mr Simon Milman MLA to Parliament House.

Calling for recent graduates!

The West Australian-German Business Association (WAGBA) is proud to announce our partnership with the University of Western Australia (UWA) and the Scholarships for Australian- German Student Exchange (SAGSE) on the launching of a new Graduate Exchange Program in March 2022. The program aims to offer a pathway for university students in Western Australia and Germany looking to gain industry experience within the international business scene as they complete, or are nearing the end of their studies. Through this program candidates will be able to create meaningful ties with businesses and mentors within the industry whilst developing their careers.

Steven's profile:

2012– joined Schaeffler as a Sales and Service Engineer, whose role was to support OEM and distribution for customers in both commercial and technical requirements for Western Australia

2017– appointed State Manager for Western Australia

2018– appointed Regional Manager West in 2018 with a change of senior management and a shift in customer focus, which has given him the responsibility for the sales regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northen Territory
